Started in Gemany in 2011 and continued in the Netherlands 2012, the EU-funded Erasmus project "HiTec - Documentation of Historical Techniques" was continued in 2013 at Hungary.
Students of the HAWK University of Applied Arts and Sciences Hildesheim/Holzminden/Göttingen, the Metropolia University in Helsinki, the University of Fine Arts in Budapest and the University of Amsterdam were able to gain experience in the technique of mask carving as well as they learned very interresting facts about folk traditions.
On a Journey to Mohács (Hungary) this video about the intangible cultural heritage of the Busójárás, the the annual carnival, was created. The Busójárás is well known as the biggest carnival event in Hungary. Whereby a special emphasis is placed on the masquerade with intricately carved wooden masks.
